I am a bachelor living alone and I usually cook my meals in large batches over the weekend and store them in the freezer. I desperately need a microwave to quickly defrost and reheat my food when I return from work every evening. I do not need anything fancy with grilling or baking functions; just a simple, durable microwave that gets the job done. What is the average microwave price in nigeria right now for a standard 20-liter capacity unit? Are budget brands like Century, Qasa, or Binatone reliable enough to last a few years, or is it absolutely necessary to spend more money on an LG or Panasonic microwave?

For a bachelor looking simply to reheat meals, the microwave price in nigeria is quite affordable. You do not need to spend heavily. A basic, high-quality 20-liter solo microwave (meaning it only microwaves, no grilling or baking) will cost between 45,000 and 65,000 Naira. Excellent budget brands that have proven their durability in Nigeria include Century, Qasa, and Binatone. I have used a basic 20L Century microwave for over four years just for reheating food and making oats, and it works flawlessly. If you step up to premium brands like LG or Samsung, a similar 20L solo microwave will cost around 85,000 to 110,000 Naira. The primary difference is that LG uses "Smart Inverter" technology, which heats the food evenly throughout, rather than leaving the edges boiling and the center frozen.

When considering the microwave price in nigeria, definitely avoid models with the "Grill" function unless you specifically plan to use it. A microwave with a grill costs about 30,000 Naira more than a solo model. The grill uses a heating element at the top of the microwave to brown or crisp food. However, it is very difficult to clean splattered grease off the grill element, and it makes the inside of the microwave smell terrible over time. Do not put foil paper, metal spoons, or steel plates inside! It will spark violently, destroy the magnetron (the engine of the microwave), and completely ruin the appliance in less than five seconds.
