I work as a remote customer service agent and I use a full desktop computer setup. My biggest problem is that whenever NEPA takes the light, my desktop instantly shuts down. By the time I turn on my generator and reboot the computer, my internet router has disconnected and I have lost my call with the client. I desperately need an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to bridge that gap. I do not need it to last for hours; I just need 10 to 15 minutes of backup power to keep my system running while I switch to generator power. A 650VA UPS will not hold the load of a modern desktop computer and will shut down immediately. A brand new 1500VA UPS from highly reliable brands like APC (Schneider Electric) or Mercury currently costs between 85,000 and 130,000 Naira. APC is the global gold standard for power protection; they are expensive, but their internal circuitry protects your computer motherboard from aggressive power surges when NEPA restores electricity. Mercury is a fantastic, slightly cheaper alternative that is extremely popular in Nigerian offices.

While checking the ups price in nigeria, you must understand how to maintain the internal battery to ensure it remains reliable. A UPS contains a heavy lead-acid battery (usually 12V 7Ah or 9Ah).
