How much is the double bowl stainless steel kitchen sink price in nigeria for a modern kitchen upgrade?
We are renovating our family house kitchen and getting rid of the old, stained single-bowl sink. My wife requested a modern, double-bowl stainless steel sink with a drainboard on the side so she can wash plates in one bowl and rinse in the other. I want a sink made of very thick, anti-rust stainless steel because the water in our area is quite hard. What is the standard kitchen sink price in nigeria for high-quality imported brands versus locally fabricated ones? Do these sinks usually come with the plumbing fittings and the swivel tap included, or do I have to buy those accessories separately?

1 day agoFor a modern upgrade, the kitchen sink price in nigeria depends entirely on the thickness (gauge) of the stainless steel. A high-quality, double-bowl stainless steel sink with a drainboard will cost between 85,000 and 150,000 Naira. You mentioned that the water in your area is hard (high mineral content). Because of this, you must buy a sink made of 304-Grade Stainless Steel. 304-grade is highly resistant to rust and corrosion. If you buy a cheap 30,000 Naira sink, it is likely made of 201-grade steel, which will start showing brown rust spots around the drain holes within six months due to the hard water. Also, check the thickness of the metal. If you can easily flex the bottom of the sink with your thumb, it is too thin. A thick sink prevents the deafening drumming sound when water hits it.

1 day agoTo answer your question about accessories alongside the kitchen sink price in nigeria: No, premium sinks almost never come with the swivel tap (faucet) included. You will have to buy the tap separately. A good quality flexible swan-neck mixer tap will cost you an additional 35,000 to 60,000 Naira. However, the sink package MUST include the plumbing waste fittings (the drain strainers, the overflow pipes, and the PVC P-trap that goes under the sink). If a vendor tells you the waste fittings are sold separately, they have removed the original parts from the box to sell them for extra profit. Walk away. Finally, ensure the bottom of the sink has rubber sound-deadening pads glued to the outside. This stops the sink from sounding like a hollow tin drum when you drop spoons into it.

1 day agoI highly recommend the imported Turkish or Korean sinks. I bought a heavy-duty double bowl for 110k at Odunade market. It is extremely deep, which is perfect for washing large Nigerian soup pots without splashing water all over the floor.

1 day agoDo not buy those trendy black or gold coated sinks you see on Instagram! They look beautiful on day one, but after two months of scrubbing with Nigerian iron sponges and scouring powder, the paint peels off and they look terrible. Stick to bare stainless steel.

1 day agoMake sure your plumber seals the edge of the sink to your granite countertop with high-quality waterproof silicone sealant. If they use cheap white cement, water will eventually leak down into your kitchen cabinets and rot the wood.
