A standard carton of 60x60cm tiles usually contains 4 pieces, which covers exactly 1.44 square meters. Currently, for high-quality imported Spanish or Italian 60x60cm vitrified floor tiles, expect to pay between 12,000 and 18,000 Naira per square meter. For premium Chinese imports, the price is about 8,000 to 11,000 Naira per square meter. You are absolutely correct to insist on vitrified tiles for the living room. Vitrification is a process where the tiles are baked at extreme temperatures, making them non-porous and incredibly hard. If you drop a heavy glass on a vitrified tile, the glass will shatter, but the tile will not chip or crack.

To address your question about local versus imported and the overall tiles price in nigeria: Locally manufactured tiles from companies like Goodwill Ceramics, Time Ceramics, or CDK have improved massively in recent years.
