What is the current job security and branch working culture at Polaris Bank – Lagos?
Polaris Bank has gone through multiple transitions and management takeovers recently. I have an offer for a retail banking role at Polaris Bank – Lagos. I am worried about the stability of the bank and the general staff morale. Is there high turnover, and do they still pay performance bonuses to branch staff? How intense is the deposit mobilization target compared to tier-one banks?

20 hours agoPolaris Bank has stabilized significantly since the transition from Skye Bank and the recent acquisition by Strategic Capital Investment Limited. The new management is heavily focused on retail banking and digital transformation through their VULTe app. For branch staff, the culture is surprisingly calm compared to the extreme pressure of tier-one banks. Target expectations are realistic. However, the bank is very cost-conscious right now. Do not expect massive spontaneous bonuses or rapid promotions. It is a place to build steady experience rather than get rich quick.

20 hours agoAs a relationship officer at Polaris, your experience will depend entirely on your branch manager. The retail drive is strong, meaning you will be pushed to open accounts and secure deposits. The salary structure is standard industry rate, but they are very punctual with payments. Employee welfare is decent, with standard HMO and leave policies. If you want a banking career without losing your sanity to impossible targets, it is a safe middle ground.
