How is the employee welfare and safety culture at Chevron Nigeria – Lagos?
Chevron is legendary for its staff welfare. I have a job offer for a corporate communications role at Chevron Nigeria – Lagos headquarters in Lekki. Beyond the high salary, I want to know about their health coverage, retirement benefits, and general work-life balance. Do corporate staff ever get to visit the Escravos field facilities?

21 hours agoChevron Nigeria (CNL) is universally regarded as the best employer in Nigeria in terms of absolute staff welfare and peace of mind. For a corporate communications role at the Lekki headquarters, the environment is incredibly serene. The office is a massive, beautiful campus. The health coverage is legendary; Chevron operates its own world-class clinics, and for severe cases, staff and their dependents are flown abroad for treatment. The retirement benefits (the provident fund and pension) are designed to make you a multi-millionaire upon retirement. The work-life balance for corporate staff is strictly respected; they actively discourage working on weekends.

21 hours agoTo answer your question about field visits: Yes, even as a corporate communications executive, you will frequently visit the Escravos field facilities. You will fly in the company private Dash-8 airplanes or helicopters from Lagos directly to the Escravos airstrip to cover corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, community relations events, and internal company news. The Escravos camp is a massive, highly comfortable facility. Chevron culture is very "American"—highly inclusive, polite, and deeply respectful of diversity. There is zero tolerance for harassment or toxic bosses. The salary is astronomical, and the annual bonuses are huge. It is the closest thing to corporate heaven in Nigeria.

21 hours agoThe job security is ironclad. Chevron rarely does mass layoffs. If you get a job here, you basically retire here. The staff retention rate is the highest in the oil and gas industry.
