Working at Geregu Power Plc under the current management is a fantastic experience for a turbine engineer. The privatization injected massive capital and a highly performance-driven culture into the plant. The management style is very modern and results-oriented. The plant in Kogi state has been heavily overhauled with state-of-the-art Siemens gas turbines. You will be working with top-tier technology. Because the power sector is so critical to the nation, the operational pressure is high; the grid demands constant uptime. However, the management prioritizes continuous technical training. They frequently fly in Siemens expatriates to conduct specialized training for local engineers.

The safety standards at Geregu Power Plc are strictly enforced. Working with high-voltage electricity and massive gas turbines leaves zero room for error. The compensation package is excellent, easily making them one of the highest-paying companies in the Nigerian power sector. They provide very comfortable, highly secured staff quarters near the plant in Ajaokuta, complete with recreational facilities and medical clinics. The annual bonuses are tied directly to the megawatts generated and sent to the grid. If the plant runs efficiently, your financial reward at the end of the year is massive. It is an incredibly proud and technically stimulating place to work.
