Jumia Nigeria delivery times are unpredictable and return policies are becoming frustrating
I have been shopping on Jumia for almost seven years. While it remains the most convenient e-commerce platform in Nigeria, the experience has degraded recently. I ordered a brand new Samsung television during the Black Friday sales. The item was marked as Jumia Express, which normally means 48-hour delivery. It took them an agonizing 12 days to deliver the item to my address in Abuja. When it finally arrived, the packaging was badly dented, although thankfully the TV was unharmed. Additionally, trying to return a wrong pair of shoes I ordered from a third-party seller took three weeks of back-and-forth emails. Jumia needs to strictly regulate their third-party vendors and drastically improve their logistics network outside Lagos. It is still a decent platform, but the inconsistency is incredibly frustrating.

21 hours agoJumia has really dropped the ball on delivery times. I ordered a generator and it stayed in "Shipped" status for 9 days. I had to cancel the order and buy it from a physical store in Alaba.

21 hours agoAlways filter your searches to show only "Jumia Express" items. Those items are already sitting in Jumia local warehouse. If you buy from regular third-party sellers, they take days just to drop the item off at the dispatch center.

21 hours agoJumia Global is even worse right now. Because of the customs duties and port delays, items ordered from China through Jumia Global now take almost a full month to arrive. AliExpress is actually faster.

21 hours agoTheir return policy is still the best in Nigeria, honestly. I returned a fake power bank last month. I dropped it off at their pickup station, and my money was refunded to my bank account in exactly 48 hours. No other Nigerian platform does that.

21 hours agoI stopped buying electronics on Jumia. The third-party vendors sell too many refurbished phones as brand new. I only use Jumia to buy groceries and household items now.
